Our family had a wonderful Sunday celebrating Conor! I had planned a tasty brunch for us to start off our day. On the menu: Bloody Mary bar (his favorite morning cocktail), lemon poppy seed pancakes (yep, the ones I was obsessed with during my pregnancy), thick cut peppered bacon, & fresh fruit!
I feel like a little expert when it comes to a bloody mary... I did bartend during the summer of my college years and my brother's own a bar, so I have made many a bloody mary in my day. The secret: Demitri's bloody mary seasoning! Nothing even compares to flavor it packs, and you only need a few squirts. Added bonus for me: it's a local Seattle company! Another secret: lime juice. Just trust me on this one, added a lime wedge to your drink; the tartness balances out all that spicy you better be adding. And where you can really add some extra flair to your beverage is with the garnish! I dropped the ball a little bit in this department, because I thought we had more on hand than we did (we are almost always stocked to throw together a bloody mary bar). The Keenan necessities: blue cheese stuffed olives, asparagus, cocktail onion, and a beef stick or bacon strip!
The rest of our day was spent relaxing together as a family, busting out some dance moves (since Liam starts shaking his little body whenever music is playing right now), and work in the backyard (Conor built us a deck and is not installing sprinklers)! We had a wonderful day together, but unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, boo! We were more caught up in the moments together than documenting it... I'm okay with that!
What happened to your postpartum post? I was hoping to read that... :(
ReplyDeleteFunny you mention that today... I jam just now finishing up that post and plan to post tomorrow or the next day. It got put on the back burner for awhile, sorry!
