Woolzies Review & Giveaway
Ever since we started cloth diapering, I have wanted to try out some wool dryer balls. I put off purchasing them, because I wanted to make my own; I even pinned a couple different tutorials and added them to my project list. Well, we have been cloth diapering for a year and a half now (read about our experience here and here), and I still haven't made the balls. "Ain't nobody got time for that!", especially this busy mama! So I was thrilled when Woolzies asked if I wanted to review their product! Also, Liam loves helping with the laundry, so he was more than happy to play with these balls all day long, and every day since! He particularly loved sitting on this mound of sheets & towels so I could snap some pictures.

Woolzies are pure handmade New Zealand wool dryer balls that soften your laundry naturally without any of the chemicals of conventional fabric softeners. The lack of chemicals makes the dryer balls cloth diaper friendly, which is exactly why I was interested! Dryer sheets are laden with numerous chemicals (yuck, you don't want that building up on your laundry whether you cloth diaper or not) and therefore can cause your diapers to not absorb as well. Even if you don't use them while drying diapers, they still cause buildup in your dryer. So we have avoided dryer sheets for awhile now; it's just one the simple ways we have made our home a little bit greener!
Woolzies also helps reduce static & wrinkles, and they save time & energy by cutting down on drying time. I really noticed the reduced drying time while drying our sheets & towels. I hate listening to our dryer running, so I love that my laundry is finished up much more quickly now. In case any of you have a wool sensitivity, you don't need to worry. Woolzies will not shed onto your laundry. You can also add a few drops of essential oil to your balls to give a light scent to your fresh laundry. I didn't have any EOs on hand, but next time I'm at Whole Foods I'm picking some up. I'm thinking lavender or eucalyptus would be perfect!
I highly recommend everyone check out these wool dryer balls,
especially any of you cloth diapering mamas!

ReplyDeleteThese sound amazing! Save time, energy, money, and the environment -- Why have I never heard of them? These would be fantastic for my glass hobby; fabric softener on my glass cleaning towels can leave a nasty residue on the glass (why am I ok with it on my clothes?) so I've always just used paper towels. I was never able to convince myself to ditch the dryer sheets all together
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing these babies forever! Thank you for hosting the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWould love to try these. I quit using dryer sheets because I can't use any with scent anyways because they break me and little guy out...so it would be nice to have an alternative!
ReplyDeletewe usually use dryer sheets, but would love to see if making the switch is worth it. Hope I can try these out!
ReplyDeleteI love how these would be great for cloth diapers. We are always looking for ways to reduce chemicals in our home.
ReplyDeleteI hate the idea of putting more chemicals on my skin, so dryer balls are way more preferable to fabric softener or dryer sheets
