Five on Friday

Oh hello there Friday!  While I wish I was going to be spending the weekend watching nonstop Olympic coverage, I think Liam may get a little stir crazy.  We have no particular plans, but I'm sure we will be getting outside as much as we can (maybe a little sledding or tubing somewhere) and possibly partaking in a little holiday baking.  I have been craving cupcakes, so I might have to try my hand at some heart shaped ones.  Fun stuff coming my way!  Here's my weekly Five (thanks to all the lovely hosts: Christina, Darci, April, & Natasha)!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

-ONE-
As mentioned above, I'm all sorts of excited about the Olympics!  I will be showing my American pride like crazy!  Of course, the Keenan family will all be sporting American flag & Olympic apparel throughout the games; I just can't resist!  One of my favorite winter events is the biathlon.  It's such a strange little sport, but it always sucks me right in.  NBC best be showing some prime time coverage of that!

-TWO-
Wednesday was National Signing Day, which was exciting business for all college football fans!  I am so proud of my cousin Ian,  who has officially signed on with Texas Tech!!!  I'm can't wait to watch him play and hopefully, hopefully be able to make it to one of his games!  Fingers crossed that Texas Tech plays Utah or Washington in a preseason game of these years....

-THREE-
Where are the girl scouts?!  I keep seeing people posting about all their delicious girl scout cookies, and I have yet to see one girl selling them!  I need some thin mints & samoas in my life now!  I even recently opened up some room in my freezer for the boxes & boxes of cookies I plan on shoving in there.

-FOUR-
We finally bought a sound machine in hopes that Liam will sleep better with white noise.  However, I hate, repeat hate, the white noise!  It sounds like a broken TV, straight out of a horror film or something.  I would much prefer to fall asleep to "summer night" or "thunder".  Since we currently cosleep, I have to deal with this white noise, so it better work.  Wish us all luck!

-FIVE-
Before Spring hits and we're spending most of our weekends outside working on the yard, I want to tackle a few more house projects.  One is painting Liam's playroom!  It has been a work in progress for a year now, as I have been procrastinating on what art work I want to hang and what color to paint the walls.  I have recently fallen in love with the idea of painting the alphabet on one of the walls.  I'm not exactly sure how I would execute this little project exactly, but I think it would add the perfect touch.  Here's one example I have found, but I need to find more...  Possibly one with a tutorial!

Enjoy the weekend friends!

  1. We got a fan because my husband hates the white noise sound too! Yeah I used to buy Girl Scout cookies from some of the partners' daughters at my old job. Now that I'm at home I don't know where to get them! Love some samoas!

  4. See, where you hate white noise, I kind of love it. Plus is DEFINITELY helps Abbie sleep. Here's hoping you learn to like it, or at least it helps Liam!

  5. Wow, if you pull off the alphabet wall that would be AMAZING. What a challenge with a HIGH REWARD! :)

    1. I think it is completely gender neutral, which I love! I've always tried to make our playroom a space for boys or girls, so that it can continue to grow with our family!

  7. I think white noise just takes getting used to. WE have sound machines in all of our bedrooms and use an app if we're sleeping somewhere else. We have that sound machine in Carter's room. The alphabet wall is a great idea!

    1. I am definitely going to give the sound machine a good try! Conor slept great with it the first night, so I will just have to adjust. I might try the ocean sound instead since it is very similar to the white noise, but not nearly as creepy! It's nice knowing that so many people have had success with sound machines!

  8. That alphabet wall is such a cool idea!! A chalkboard/magnetic wall would be cool with letters too :)
