Oh no, Mono

Where have been...? In bed.  In bed for 5 days straight now.  I got hit hard with something vicious on Sunday, which turned out to be mono.  It's been awful.  Many tears have been shed.  However, I am the luckiest girl around because my sweet sweet husband stayed home from work each day to watch over Liam & to take care of me!  He is pretty much super Dad, and he even told me that my "job" is really hard.  So he's pretty much a keeper.  As amazing as he is at the whole work-at-home-dad gig, we realized it wasn't going to be sustainable for a long period of time.  So my Mom flew into Salt Lake City this morning to take over duties here at home.

Liam loves having Nana around, and I excited about her homemade chicken noodle soup.  We have her here for a whole week, thank goodness!  I'm hoping to have one of those crazy fast recoveries, because this whole "mono" business isn't exactly helping with my getting back into running & swimming nor with trying for baby #2.

I'm sick.  I'm frustrated.  I'm pretty damn mad about the whole situation.  But my mama is here.
I have lots of emotions & thoughts about this whole ordeal and the mom guilt that it has brought upon me, but that is for a day when I can sit up for longer than 15 minutes.
Let the healing begin.

  1. I thought only teenagers got mono! But man does being sick as a mom suck! It's hard just getting a head cold and not being 100% with an active toddler so I can only imagine when you get hit with something serious! I'm so glad you have your husband and now your mom to help and let you get better. But I totally understand the mom guilt of not being able to do more. How long do they say it normally takes before you feel better? I remember people in high school who had it for a while.

  9. Oh no!!! I've never had mono but I hear it's nasty. And having it and taking care of a toddler? Impossible. So lucky that your husband can stay home and that your mom could come! I hope you feel better soon!!!
