Summer Solstice

We had an incredible first day of Summer!
Waffle truck, water park, bbq, bonfire, & s'mores.
These are things summers are made of!

We went to the water park a few times last summer, and while Liam liked it then, he LOVES it now.  He did slide after slide after slide.  Jumped in the water & climbed right back out.  He is an expert at this; elbow elbow, knee knee!  The boy never stopped moving or splashing.  Only thing the little man did not like: innertubes!  The lazy river was not for him.  Ain't nobody got time for that!

He played hard the entire time, and then as soon as his little head hit the back of the carseat, he was out for a long nap!  I took one too...in the guest bedroom...with absolute no noise or interruptions for 1.5 hours.  It was glorious!  I woke up refreshed to do some puzzles & pull weeds (currently Liam's two favorite activities).  Then we barbecued lamb, steaks, & veggies and even coaxed Liam into eating most of it with the promise of chocolate.  My boy can't get enough chocolate!

He wore off any remaining energy he had with the neighbor girls, and then it was an early bedtime for him.  Conor (fire builder extraordinaire) got a nice little bonfire going just as the sun was setting.  S'mores were made, wine was poured, & friends gathered.

I know this summer is gonna be a good one!
Hope everyone enjoyed all the day light this summer solstice!

  1. I wish we had a water park nearby that's suitable for little kids! We have a splash pad and our pool but those slides sound like fun! And how perfect to end the day around the fire pit!

  9. How fun is that!!! I wish there was a water park around here that was good for little kids. I feel like they all have such big kid slides where Mason would for sure drown if he tried to go on them.
And also, waffle truck?!?! Umm, yes please. Send him on my way!
