Weekend Recap
Before Mono struck me like a brick wall, I had planned on finishing up our garden this weekend. So while I was downing fluids, my mom, Conor, & Liam got their green thumb on! I had already planted all my flowers in my front beds, but my pots for the back deck were still unfinished. My mom knows what I like (mostly purples & whites), so she made a trip to the nursery and picked out some beautiful stuff for them. I love how they turned out; she did a much better job than I would have. I'm a still learning from the master... Now to wait and watch everything fill in!

Meanwhile Conor built a huge planter box for the backyard! The man is skilled! Most of backyard is shaded (which is wonderful when the temps are consistently in the 90s & 100s), but that makes it difficult to have a big vegetable garden. He built the planter in a portion of our yard that gets full sun, so I think it will thrive. Tomatoes, herbs, beans, carrots, garlic, onions, zucchini, lettuce, & everything in between, oh my! Once again, my mom threw in her expertise (like adding marigolds to keep the bugs off your veggies) & Liam supervised.
They also hit up the first farmer's market of the season! I was so sad to miss this as I had been looking forward to it! They snatched up some fresh pastries, produce, & farm eggs while Liam "pet the body" of many little animals!
Thanks for all your well wishes last week!
I am feeling a bit better each day & hoping to have a full recovery in record timing.
So sorry to hear you got mono!! Can't even imagine as a mom, we aren't allowed to get sick! ;). Feel better!!!
ReplyDeleteLiam looks like such a big boy with his hair cut!!! Hope you get all better soon so you can join in on the fun!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are starting to get a bit better. Take it day by day! Are you able to nurse with the mono?
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better! What a sweet family to work on your garden for you while you are sick. And what awesome veggies you will have once things start growing! My brother-in-law is obsessed with gardening and grows the best veggies!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Please send your mom over here to offer us some advice on our gardens! Right now we have a giant planter out front that Mac uses as a worm farm with nothing growing in it! We need help! :) Anyway, glad you're feeling better. Take care of yourself, mama!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks amazing! I would love to have a little veggie garden one day but I have lots to learn in the gardening department :) Glad you're feeling better - slowly but surely you'll be back to your normal self!
