Russell Wilswim

Last week while getting Liam ready for bed, we sadly noticed that our beloved beta fish, Russell Wilswim, had died.  Liam quickly told Conor that "he swam too fast!"  Quite possibly the most adorable response ever!  We rolled with it.  Our adorable blue little fish just swam too fast, so now he has gone down the toilet to keep swimming with all his fishy friends.

Liam's grandparents bought him the fish a little over a year ago, and he has been a fun little member of the family.  While Liam liked watching him swim occasionally and feeding him, the real fun was watching Charlie & Russell!  Charlie has always had quite the love affair with the fish.  He would spend many hours a day just staring into the bowl, which had also become his favorite water dish.  Sometimes he would put his paw in ever so slightly, but it was always playful.  Russell would swim up to the top to say hi.  I swear they were best friends!  Charlie may be the saddest over his death...

We now have a new blue beta fish (yet to be named). Let's hope he's not a fast swimmer...
