We've been spending the first part of our vacation at my parent's lake house in Spirit Lake, Idaho, & practically feels like we are staying at a resort! Beautiful grounds, fresh flowers in the bedrooms, fully stocked bar, homecooked meals, free baby sitters, boat tours (Liam is fearless about jumping of the boat), & lawn games. It's pretty much everything you would ever want in a vacation! The Pacific Northwest is a special place... I could move back in a heartbeat!
Of course Conor & I are trying to earn our stay and are helping with various lake projects (tree house!) & meals as needed. But my parents are simply amazing and have made this as relaxing a week as possible for our family. Because let me tell you, life with two kids is still exhausting...even with all the help! Our first two nights at the lake I fell asleep putting Liam to bed & missed out on all the evening activiites. It's always a tough battle between having that extra sleep or enjoying some kid free time. I'll sure I'll squeeze in a little of both this trip!
The temperatures have been ridiculously hot, so we've been sneaking away for morning adventures & then boating all afternoon (Finn even took a neccessary quick dip in the lake to cool off)! We headed to the mountains for some reprieve from the heat & chairlift rides at Schweitzer Mountain, and then spent another morning in downtown Coeur d'Alene. Liam loves all the big big boats on the floating boardwalk!
We plan on spending the 4th of July out here, so we're only half way through our stay at the lake! I've never spent more than a week here, so this extended stay is amazing! Not many worries when you're at this little oasis! So here's my midweek photo dump of the trip. Much fun is left to be had!
