When Birthdays Come Early

It's no surprise that I love this little blogging community!  The support is my favorite part, and the gift exchanges are a nice little perk!  Just like last year, a group of us that have babes with summer birthdays decided to do an exchange.  This usually happens about a month before Liam's actual birthday, so he is all sorts of excited about a special present coming in the mail.  It spreads out the birthday love a bit without having present overload!
When I saw that our box was from Sara, I knew it would be amazing!  Sara & I have been matched up before, and she gives the best gifts!  Liam and her boy Mac are very similar, so she seems to know just what Liam will like!  And she did not disappoint!

Liam was most excited about his pack of Construction Trucks that were immediately taken to his sandbox!  It was only 99 degrees outside... Don't worry, we weren't sweating profusely or anything.  But he was so darn excited to get them in the sand that there was no waiting.  And being the smart mom that I am (pats self on back), I waited to let Liam open this package on a day when I knew Conor would be home late.  Something to get us through the witching hour.  I would call it a big success!

Sara also sent us two new digger books!  I thought I already had all the amazing digger books that could possibly exist, but I was so wrong!   Dig! & The Diggers are our two new favorites!  And with how many books I read on any given day, new books are appreciated by all!  Thanks Sara!!!!

We sent a special birthday package over to sweet little Waverly!
So hop over there to see what girly things we got pick out!
Here are all the mamas & babes that participated in our exchange:

Amanda & Lily : Tickled Pink
Ashley & Waverly : Words About Waverly

Laura & Liam : Tiny Toes, Little Nose

Sara & Mac : Running From the Law

  3. Sara and Mac picked the perfect things for Liam! Those new diggers look so fun to play with in his sand box and those digger books? I thought we had all the digger books too but I'll have to add these to our list! Happy (almost) birthday Liam!

  9. Noah has the diggers and LOVES them! We've given a few sets as gifts and have a few waiting for the next boy birthday party we go to! We are a huge fan of getting and giving books as gifts too! You really can never have too many!

  10. I'm so glad the diggers were a hit! Mac is OBSESSED with them and takes them with us everywhere we go. I have diggers in my purse, in my car, in the stroller, in his crib, at his grandparents. You can never have too many diggers. :) Although I will admit that it took everything I had not to send you guys some Kickee Pants pajamas instead. But I figured that wouldn't be nearly as much fun for a little boy to open. :)

    1. Me too!!! I find those little diggers, bulldozers etc everywhere! Carter loves them! They are great for restaurants too---sugar packets, creams, jellies etc are always being dumped out and pushed around!!!

  11. I love this idea! I always wanted to let you in on a tip that I read about getting sand off sweaty skin. You may already know this, but if you rub baby powder on the sandy/sweaty area when you are finished playing the sand will come right off! I never thought of that and it works like a charm! :) Have a good day!

    1. I had heard that before but I always thought about it for the beach. I will have to start putting baby powder by the back door. Thanks!
