Fri-Yay

This week flew by!  The short work week along with preschool made for a fast track to the weekend.  We may go backpacking one last time this summer, so I'm pumped for that.  I'm also a little nervous, because Finn is much heavier than he was 2 months ago.  It was tough carrying him & my pack then... hopefully I'm up to the challenge!  We'll just have to see how adventurous we are feeling come tomorrow.  Here's my (sometimes) weekly five...

-ONE-
I went into Target for 5 things yesterday.  Five!... $100 later, damn you target!  My favorite purchase: this arrow lounge pants.  Completely gender neutral and only $5!!!  Now if only they came in my size too!

-TWO-
I'm starting to find my photography style, at least via Instagram, and am finally starting to use my VSCO cam app.  However, there are only about two filters (A6 & HB1) that I'm loving of the free options available.  So tell me your favorite collections before I simply purchase them ALL!

-THREE-
I'm finally ready to jump on the ankle bootie trend!  A fashion blogger I am not.  I take a ridiculously long time to warm up to new trends.  So booties are on my birthday wishlist!  Deciding on the exact pair I want will be tough.  So many amazing options.  I'm currently eyeing this beauty in the wild mushroom leather.  But I think the heel may be a bit too high.  The search continues!

-FOUR-
If you aren't already following Socialty Barbie on IG, you need to now!  She's so hipster, so authentic, and will make you feel ridiculous about the stuff on Instagram.  Probably some of your own photos even.  I love to hate her!  So many cliches, irony, & sarcasm!  A fun follow to add to your feed!

-FIVE-
My new binge worthy show: Big Love!  It's especially fun to watch since I currently live in Utah.  I'm completely wrapped up in it and may or may not drive extra slow past the polygamous house just a few blocks away from mine (no joke!).  Plus 5 whole seasons means I'll be busy for awhile.  Added bonus: a young Aaron Paul is in the show.  Oh how I have missed him since I said goodbye to Breaking Bad.

TGIF friends!

  1. Umm so I TOTALLY thought that those arrow pants were adult pants! Haha! I wish. They look so comfy for lounging around the house!
I NEED to work on my photography but just can't find the time! I love all the photo editing apps on my phone but don't know how to use them. If you figure it all out, please do share! I could use all the help I can get :)

    1. I typically still brighten my photos after using VSCOcam, but yeah, it's definitely overwhelming.

  3. So far I've just been using (and loving) pictapgo to edit my iPhone photos for Instagram. Please share if you find some good ones though! I bought a pair of flat ankle booties by Sam Edelman last fall and LOVE them! I got them in a tan color and they go with everything! Have a great weekend!

  4. I saw those cute little lounge pants, and have been kicking myself ever since for not grabbing them. They are adorable! And yes, Target always gets me. It's ridiculously easy to spend $100 there. Like a black hole for wallets.

Definitely going to check out that Socialty Barbie. Sounds funny! Happy weekend, Laura!:)

  6. I just spent way too much time looking at Socality Barbie's Instagram, hahaha. So funny! And seriously Target, gets me every time. I have to stop there today and I'm sure I'll walk out with 10 more things than I planned on buying. Happy Friday!

  8. Those pants are so cute! I'm loving their new camping clothes at Target, but I'm afraid my long guy is not going to fit in them. Questions - what do you do when they're long enough for 12M clothes and nothing is a onesie anymore, all real shirts?! Gah! Love those booties! I am the exact same way about trends and booties are finally on my wishlist this fall. haha Have a great weekend!

  9. Gah...I am loving booties as well. I am torn between the lucky Basel booties or the free people braeburns.

  11. Haha, I think I'm ready for the bootie trend too! Sadly my mom has been wearing them for years...I feel so behind. ;) I'm so excited to put VSCO lens on my Christmas list, I can't stand it! I've tried several times to watch Big Love; I loved it, just couldn't find the time. Maybe someday soon...

  12. I love the booties! Those are so adorable. I am the same way about heels. If it feels a little too tall then I am nervous because honestly, if I'm not comfortable, then forget it! Those look manageable though. Also, I heard about Socialty Barbie on the morning news of all places. I'm going to need to check that out.

I finally got VSCO app but haven't played much with it yet - tips?!
Good lookin' out, we've finished up a few shows we were watching so need some new ideas (does Conor watch?).
