Stitch Fix #8

Another fix, and ooh it was good!  Three of the items (which happened to be my favorites) were exact items that I had pinned.  Pinning Stitch Fix items is the way to go; you can practically pick your entire fix.  To find recent items, I usually search "stitch fix october 2015" (or whatever the current month may be).  I think Stitch Fix keeps getting better & better.  I am loving my new pieces!

A little PSA: I had pink eye, mastitis, & a house full of company when we quickly snapped these photos.  I felt terrible & looked terrible.  Plus a shakey cameraman...too much whiskey perhaps?  So these photos are a little rough on the eyes.  Bear with with me.

Skies are Blue Renny Double Front Pocket Top
I loved this top!  The plaid is perfect.  The neckline a tad unusual for a button up.  And it just screams throw a vest on top of me!  Bonus points for being nursing friendly.  I'm really going to kick myself for not keeping this, but it was a bit tight in the arms on me.  I know that I would be so frustrated with that while picking up babies & toddlers all day, so I sadly sent it back.

Pixley Tracy Dot Print Cross Back Knit Top
I saw this on Courtney and loved it!  She thought it made her look a little wide, but I completely disagreed.  I loved it even more when it showed up in my box.  The material is soft & the neckline is stretchy (perfect for nursing!).  I kept this beauty!

Brixon Ivy Fierro Elbow Patch Crew Neck Sweater
Another option that I saw on Courtney and just had to have!  Her boobs looked far better in it (she must have some mythical, magical nursing bra I am unaware of), but I still loved it.  The length was perfect for my long torso; plus, I'm such a sucker for elbow patches.  Definitely kept!

 Papermoon Harlee Dolman Knit Top
Hated everything about this.  The material was thin & the fit was awkward.  Womp womp.

RD Style Wakefield Crossover Sweater
Hated this even more.  Terrible material.  Terrible sleeve.  Terrible color.

I know you are all going to tell me I never should have returned that plaid shirt, and I will deeply regret it.  But I have serious buyers remorse, so these decisions are tough for me!  If you are crazy and have still not tried Stitch Fix, you need to do it!  And as always, you will receive many many thanks from me!!!  Next time, I promise better (non fuzzy) photos!

  1. You are just gorgeous mama! I love the first three outfits so much. they look soo good on you. the last two are coming in at a very strong second. It's too bad that the plaid was a little tight :( I feel like a shirt has to be super comfortable in order to feel like it's worthy to keep it you got a toddler and a newborn you need a shirt that's super comfortable and flexible.

  2. LOVE the ones you kept!!!! I loved them on Courtney as well but I know she didn't like them as much (except that elbow patch sweater - LOVE LOVE LOVE). I just signed up for my first box and it should arrive this weekend (!!!!) and I started pinning things from actual stitch fix boxes so hopefully I get some good stuff!

  3. First of all, you are ADORABLE! And look cute in everything. Secondly. I have some tunics coming into Pearl & Monroe that look JUST like the one that you sent back. Except - the ones I am carrying will be a bit longer (great for us long torso girls, and also great for leggings), and I guarantee that mine will be a lesser price point than any on Stitch Fix. You'll have to pop over and see. They should be in this week. I've got a red and navy combo coming and a white and navy. So excited!

  5. Ooh I love the ones you kept! As for the plaid shirt, if it didn't fit perfectly you should send it back. Check out gap or old navy... They have a lot of plaid shirts right now! I just bought a red and black checked one from gap yesterday.

  7. LOVE that elbow patch sweater! I am interested to know if it gets pilly quickly...I feel like my sweaters start to look worn so quickly, even though I don't dry them. Do you have any secrets for that? LOVE that blue top on both you and Courtney! I pinned it, too!!

  11. I totally agree on what you kept - I think you'll definitely be able to find a similar plaid top!

And I'm hoping those two tops will show up in my fix next week too...

  12. oh the last two things.. no. i don't know if you are just uncomfortable and hate them and that shows through the photos, but yeah they are not cute lol. i'm sure you will find another plaid top that is more perfect! no point in keeping something you know you won't wear or something about it will annoy you.

  15. I love all the ones you kept! I'm a sucker for elbow patches too! That navy polka dot shirt is perfection on you. And I'm obsessed with that plaid shirt. I hope I get that in my next fix! Love this!

  16. I think you are my style doppelganger! I love plaid, love polka dots, and have a closet full of neutral cottony sweaters (sadly without elbow patches). I haven't tried Stitch Fix yet, but this post is bringing me closer and closer to giving it a go!

  17. I love the look of the plaid top, but too bad the fit was off. And the crossover top could be cute but the crossover part doesn't look like it was made right? You're the best model Laura, because even the things that didn't work out look fantastic on you!

  18. Love those first three tops, especially the blue one!

  19. I agree! Both of those tops are adorable, and I thought the same when I saw them on Courtney! I may have to scout them out!

  21. I'm not sure how I missed this post?! I just happened upon it via pinterest though, so score! Anyway, DYING laughing at the boob comment. They're just some random Motherhood Maternity bras that I used when I had Abigail. Lucky enough to get to use them for a second go round!

Oh and I feel like the blue top looks way better on you than it did me! Maybe I needed a size smaller? I don't know. Jim is still mad at me for not keeping that shirt :p
