Stitch Fix #11

Stitch Fix time!  Except don't get too excited, because once again it was quite the disappointment (I didn't keep anything!).  But I'm going to take a little responsibility here...  It's not completely my stylist fault.  I've been not only pinning the looks I love and hope to receive in my fixes, but also my old fixes.  The thought was that my stylist could see how the clothes from previous fixes looked on me.  Well I think this has been messing up everything!!!  Because my last three fixes have all been terrible, and they have all been just a somewhat different assortment of the same styles.  So note to bloggers: do NOT pin your own fixes unless it was a piece you loved & kept!  So since I still love getting that sweet little package in the mail, I'm going to give Stitch Fix another shot!  I see all the amazing options on Pinterest; I just need to get my hands on them!  But since we all have different styles, here is my latest fix in case there is something you all love and want to pin:

Skies are Blue Talar Split Neck Top
This was the best of the bunch.  I liked the chambray look of this shirt, and I also love polka dots, but it was still pretty meh.  It was quite wide & a little on the short side.

41Hawthorn Danette Dress
I asked for casual dresses that I could wear with leggings.  This is not casual in my mind.  I'm not going to be sporting this while chasing my toddler down, nor can I nurse in it.  I also happen to hate the color and the pattern.

Karen Kane Evey Dress
Again, this is not casual in my opinion.  And again, I hate the color and the pattern.  But of course I had to give it the twirl test, and it has a nice little spin to it!

Briton Ivy Sylvester Split Neck Blouse
I like a good blouse, but this one was really short.  Apparently Stitch Fix keeps forgetting about my long torso!  The mint color was pretty, so had it been longer, this may have actually made it into my closet.

Mystery Swindle Crochet Detail Open Drape Cardigan
Not a fan of the back nor the odd draping.  I didn't like how the chunkiness of the sweater didn't continue onto the arms either.  Really a bizarre piece!

Another big womp womp.  But with a new Pinterest board, I'm feeling extremely hopeful about my next fix!  And if I haven't completely scared you away, and you are in fact interested in trying it out, do it!  If nothing else this is a fun service, and I have scored many a beautiful piece of clothing from Stitch Fix.  Please use my link, so I can send many many thanks your way!

  1. I really liked the mint top. Too bad it wasn't longer like you said.

  3. Ooh yeah I'm not loving this stitch fix either. That's a bummer. I have one coming on Monday and I hope I have better luck!

  4. What a bummer. I actually think that Danette Dress looks great on you. But, you're right, not casual. I've also been getting lots of tops that are too short, and I don't even have a particularly long torso!

  5. Bummer about the chambray and mint tops being too short, both look cute! I'm with you in the long torso department, it's so hard to find a top that's long enough!
    On to the next fix!!

  6. Huh. I kinda like the Evey dress, but I have another of a similar style that I already love, and it probably cost me less ;) Thanks for sharing your fix!

  7. Awwww, bummer about the the fix as a whole. Both dresses are not casual at all, but I love that you did the twirl test.

  8. I hate when my Fix doesn't live up to my expectations! I do like the dresses though!

  9. Bummer!! This is why I haven't gotten a "fix" in awhile...my last two were disappointing, so I'm waiting for spring to come. I do love that mint top, but I have an issue with shirts being too small, so I totally get it! Nice twirl! :)

  10. Womp womp. Bummer! I actually like that first dress, but I agree it's not all that casual. Fingers crossed that your next fix is good!

  11. #longtorsoproblems over here too. Ugh!!! That polka dot chambray would've been perfect had it be longer and slimmer! And the back of that sweater cracks me up. Like, "let me show off my butt crack a little" What?!?!

  12. I hate short shirts with a passion!! I agree all these pieces were womp womp!

  13. I have major short shirt phobia and I actually have a pretty short torso- so yeah, this box would have flopped for me too. Blah

  14. womp, what a bummer! i have the same long torso and i've had issues with stitch fix tops as well. i asked for casual dresses last time and definitely got fancier than casual haha. but like you, i love to receive it, so i don't mind! that cardigan is super weird.

  15. I have the opposite problem as you...I have the shortest torso ever. :) Hopefully your fixes will get better now that you know what is going on! Can't wait to see your next fix.

  16. I love both tops that you received, but agree it would have been nice if they were a bit longer. Bummer you haven't had any luck recently. :( Hope the next fix is better.

  17. What a bummer!! Stitch Fix sent me a dress in December that was nowhere near casual or nursing friendly. I said no more dresses! It was a disaster. Hope next month is better for you!

  18. I'm so sorry this fix was a disappointment! I totally get it and see why you didn't like the pieces. The denim top is cute but I agree about the wideness. Hopefully they'll put your new Pinterest board to good use!

  19. Yikes to that last sweater!! I love the second dress (even the color and pattern), but yeah, not casual at all! I also love that chambray shirt...too bad it's too short! How tall are you? I may pin that top to my Pinterest board in hopes of receiving a similar one! Also, check oldnavy.com for casual dresses. I just got a few the other day (and doing a blog post about them tomorrow)!

  20. totally agree the the blouses have potential, but are both too short. And probably not as cheap as they should be. I'm so over Stitch Fix and their surprise back tops. It's no longer a surprise, it's like you just expect every top and sweater to have something strange going on the backside.

  21. The twirl test, yes!!! You don't know how happy reading that made me, I thought I was the only one who still enjoyed doing that :D Yeah, what a weird sweater that is, sometimes I wonder if people design stuff like that just to laugh?

  22. I do like that sweater! In my last fix, I got a sweater with a huge hole in the sleeve...they offered to send me a replacement, but I might be done with them!

    1. I'm giving it one more fix, because (1) I have credit and (2) Pinterest keeps sucking me in with clothes that could possibly be mine.

    2. I just sent back a Fix that included a (hideous) necklace missing half of its faux gemstones! I wouldn't mind so much, except that I felt like they also totally ignored my styling note (I asked for casual, machine-washable clothes I could nurse in, and got a bunch of hand-wash-only and dry-clean-only pieces, plus the hideous necklace). I wonder if they're overwhelmed with Fix requests right now?

    3. I also had a damaged item in my last Fix! It was super disappointing overall--I asked for casual, machine-washable clothes I could nurse in, and got a bunch of hand-wash-only and dry-clean-only items, plus an ugly necklace missing half its faux gems. Yikes. Seems like January is a bad month for them.

  23. Oh no!!! Such a bummer. I do like that mint split neck shirt but I can TOTALLY relate to you on things being too short and hating them. I HATE short shirts.
I hope your next fix is better!

  24. I've decided that I'm sadly done with Stitch Fix. I get nothing close to what I ask for nor what I have on my Pinterest page. I read a ton of Stitch Fix blog posts at Christmas (I was super sick on the couch for two weeks) and I've come to the realization that my style (which is nothing crazy by any means) does not match the types of clothes they send out. I'm pretty frustrated that it didn't work out since the concept is such a good one.

    1. I get frustrated with a bad fix too! But then I see all these styles on Pinterest that I really want! I tend to typically have some referral credit, so I'll keep getting fixes for now.

  25. Ugh, yeah, I agree with sending them all back. What a bummer. I'm really hoping SF gets their shit together and gets you some better stuff soon. I love the dresses on you, but agree they're not very casual or nursing friendly. Love the chambray, but it is too wide. Love the green color, but not the top. And not a fan of the chunky cardigan. So close, but misses on everything. Bleh. Fingers crossed the next fix is a 5/5.

  26. I think that both of the dresses look SO great on you! But, I totally get that you only want to purchase pieces that are versatile/ones you love. :) Hope you enjoy your next fix much more!
