Stitch Fix #13

Just when I thought Stitch Fix was back on track, I had another disappointment.  I feel like a lot of the blame lands on my stylist, who somehow manages to not understand my style or body at all.  It's a bit frustrating, since I love tons of Stitch Fix items that I see on others and on Pinterest.  I actually contacted customer service after this fix, because it seemed so far off from what I requested, and my note from my stylist was not personalized at all.  Customer Service completely agreed with me, so they are allowing me to have a re-do.  I really do love the Stitch Fix concept, so I'm going to give them at least one more try (I think I have said this before, and I keep coming back...).  But for now, my terrible terrible fix.  I asked for casual clothes and lots of blush pink... Spoiler Alert: no blush and not too casual in my opinion.  Here we go...

Le Lis Columbus Pullover Knit Top
This sweater was soft, and I liked the oatmeal color.  But the lace was super strange to me (I am not a fan of mixed material pieces).  But the biggest issue was the length... Another short top!  I have a long torso, and this seems to be problematic all the time.

Kut From the Kloth Dayna Skinny Jean
I usually have my profile set to not send pants, but I decided to mix it up for a fix.  These jeans were super super stretchy (which I don't like), and I really hated the wash.  A little dull & light for my liking.

Crescent Windsor Bell Sleeve Tunic
Not my style.  Not at all.  I actually felt like this piece was super frumpy.  I think my stylist was going for Boho, but no no.

Alice Blue Guthrie Side Split Blouse
This was a pretty dressy blouse in my opinion, not casual.  The side slits were strange, you would have to wear a tank top underneath unless you want those sweet love handles showing.  And the print was something my grandma would have loved.

Paper moon Schmidt Crew Neck Blouse
So so so so short.  Also, more mixed material happening here.  Also, crazy busy fabric that makes my head hurt.  Can you tell I hated it?

Pretty exciting stuff huh?  Next month better just wow me!  I know my last few posts have made Stitch Fix sound super amazing (...crickets...), but I do love the service.  And I will say, their Customer Service is top notch.  My fixed arrived while I was unexpectedly out of town for a funeral, so they gave me a big grace period to return my items.  I really appreciated that!  If you are even thinking about trying it, do it!  If nothing else it's super fun!  If you use any of my links, I get a nice little kick back, so I can keep the fixes coming.  It's always appreciated!

  3. Oh yes, very disappointing! I'm a long torso girl too and that's a huge reason why many tops don't work on me. Glad they gave you a redo... A friend of mine had that happen to her too.

  4. I actually really like that lace pullover- it looks off white in the picture and I love lace and off white, but oatmeal just doesn't work with my skin tone. How great that they have great customer service!

  5. Oh no! This fix reminds me of my February one which was AWFUL. But like you I contacted customer service (actually tagged them in my blog post) and got a quick, great response. And also a great stylist who I Know through blogging - and in March I kept all five items!

  6. Oh I hate mixed materials tops too! My one and only fix had lots of those. Bummer that this was such a miss, but I'm glad they are letting you have a redo.

  7. I have zero complaints about their customer service, but every once in a while, I wonder what my stylist was thinking. I had a few really good months in a row, and then this month? Whomp whomp. Hope your next box is better!

  9. Bummer! I hate getting bad fixes, but I keep going back for more!! I have a longer torso, too, so a lot of their shirts are too short. :( I have had amazing luck with their pants...somehow, they always send the perfect size! Did yo know that they do shoes now?

  10. Bummer about the bad fix. I do like Kut from Kloth normally, their jeans fit quite well.

  11. oh gosh that last top is just awful. esp on screen. it honestly made me feel ill when I scrolled down. Yeah those were terrible. But the costumer service really seems great. My first fix is scheduled for next month and I am excited even if it all sucks =)

  12. Hahaha, love your recap! I can just think how I'd be thinking those things in my head as I try stuff on. Us ladies must all think alike! I actually really love those jeans on you, but if they are the wrong material then I know that can take them out of the running. Your so pretty so you make it all look good, but such a disappointment on the stylist there!

  13. So I actually like the first outfit, but totally get why you didn't. The rest is just AWFUL. What on earth were they thinking?!?! Who was your stylist?

  14. Yikes! You're right--everything about this is so wrong for you! I'm scheduled to get a fix today/tomorrow and I'm anxious to see what I receive. My last fix (in January) was a total bust...so much that I complained to CS.

  15. Short tops are the WORST. Like, who do those look good on?!

  16. I agree with you 100%. I wouldn't have kept any of them either. I hope your next box is a total win.

  17. Your stylist was off mark on the tops. For sure. And if the note is the one you shared a bit ago, woah. Just woah. I'm glad CS was on the same page with you, and I hope your next fix they knock out of the park.
In other news. I really liked the jeans on you. :)

  18. If that top was longer I would be all over it! But I wouldn't have kept it for the same exact reasons as you. Such a bummer! My last fix was a 0/5 too and it's always such a disappointment when that happens!

  19. Oh my, that last one makes me dizzy...yikes!! I am with you--#longtopsforlife. Hopefully they can get it right next time!!!

  20. The biggest issue I have with Stitch Fix is the quality of their clothing. I feel like most of it I could find at Target and TJ Maxx for 1/2 the price. As a matter of fact, I just bought an Olive & Oak dress(a brand they sell) at Costco for $10. If I'm dropping $40-$60 on a shirt, it had better be Nordstrom quality!

    1. Agreed, you can definitely find the stuff cheaper elsewhere. But I've also received stuff that Nordstrom is currently selling at a higher price. It's such a mixed bag!

  21. oh my word, that bell sleeve tunic... what?! that sucks you had such a crappy fix, i'm glad you reached out to customer service. yeah, stitch fix is great in theory, but when they don't listen or personalise it at all, what's the point?! i understand length issues (fellow long torso here!) or other things, but sending you things so not your style and not what you asked for? rude.

  22. I've tried Stitch Fix a few times and I love the concept as well. Unfortunately, it also seems they don't fully pay attention to my style profile and I have gotten a lot of stuff that is odd material. Not to mention that some of their prices are absolutely insane...I think one time I paid around $60 for a shirt that would have easily been about $20 at TJ Maxx. Both shirts that I have kept from my two fixes were also horribly bad quality and didn't hold up. I cancelled and, as much as I'd like to continue the service, I won't do it again.

    1. I have a lot of the same thoughts! Their stuff can definitely be found at TJ Maxx, but I've also received stuff that wasn't currently being sold at Nordstrom for a higher price. I love the concept so I keep going back, for now....
