For the first time in awhile, we had a relaxing weekend. Not a whole lot on the agenda, which was a much needed break. But with these types of weekends comes exciting activities like hand washing all my "hand wash only" clothes that have been piling up for months. The only thing that would make this activity even slightly fun, would be an outdoor clothes line. I need to get Conor on that project...
Aside from all the laundry, there was a trip to the waterpark Friday night, where Liam is now tall enough to do ALL THE SLIDES. As in he says "bye mom" and scurries off with friends to do slide after slide, and I don't see him for far too long. How is my baby at this stage?! I love it and am terrified all at the same time! We also made it to the farmer's market for some tomato plants to complete the vegetable garden. Our farmer's market is at an actual farm, and it's my favorite way to spend Sunday morning. I love stocking up on fresh produce for the week; it inspires me to keep our meals healthy! We'll see how long a pound of fresh cherries will last me... I probably should have gone for 2 lbs!
There was also bubble bathing (because Liam is obsessed with all LUSH bath bombs & bubble bars). Camping hammock frame building. Barbecuing. Drinking. Kombucha kegging (POG this month). Which by the way, there have been some requests for me to share more about brewing my own kombucha, hard cider, & ginger beer; so if I can get myself together, I will gets some posts up about all the fermenting going on in the Keenan household.

I also had a chance to sneak away to the mountains for a bit on Saturday morning. We had a blessingway for one of my friends, out in the woods behind her house. She's hoping to birth her baby outside, so we all gathered in the little fort she has put together. It was a special morning as we get ready to welcome another baby into our little tribe. After only a few hours away from my boys, I always feel so rejuvenated as a mother. A little "me" time is always appreciated!

I'm patiently waiting for my outdoor clothes line, too. Hopefully Luke will get to that soon!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect relaxing weekend! Odette has been dying to go to the waterpark as well :) Glad you got to sneak away for a little "me" time too. We all need that sometimes!
ReplyDeleteI need to schedule in a more relaxed weekend... This sounds perfect! And seriously, how is Liam old enough for the bye mom stage... Wasn't it just yesterday that he was a breastfeeding babe!?!
ReplyDeleteI hate hand wash only clothes. Such a pain. Definitely builds up until you finally get the energy.
ReplyDeleteRelaxin weekends are the best! Love the bathtub pictures. You have some handsome little boys lady!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of the boys in the bathtub...they looks SO MUCH alike!!!! So so handsome! Hooray for relaxing weekends and being big enough to do all the slides!
ReplyDeleteI love relaxing weekend and having time to ourselves is the best. I had a huge pile of handwash clothes waiting for me as well.
ReplyDeleteGirl, raising my had in total solidarity with the pictures problem. I have Dropbox to upload all my photos directly from my phone, since I long over exceeded Apple's limit. And we also have an external hard drive - which I desperately need to get around to uploading too as well, since the reason we bought it was to protect photos if my phone/computer crashes. And since it won't do much good if I don't actually use it. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteHand washing clothing is for the birds. Sometimes clothes literally sit waiting to be handwashed for the entire season before I realize that I never washed them and then its too late to wear them, ha!
And YES! Alone time for mommy is vital to being the best mama you can be! I always find myself in a better state of mind when I can get away for just an hour or two every now and then. Love that last photo! Liam is your mini:)
That last picture is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are always so stunning! The boys are starting to look even more alike as Finn gets older. So dang handsome those two! I'm with you on the storage issues. If you hear of anything life changing please share.
ReplyDeleteIve been eating ALL the summer fruit, its a wonder I don't have a stomach ache every night lol. I wish iPhones had expandable memory, how lovely would that be?!
ReplyDeletegorgeous photographs.
ReplyDeletei almost religiously sit down once a month to empty out both my and my husbands phones and upload them all onto the computer.. this i do a little less religiously.. though i should do more often.. but every few months i back up everything on my external hard drive..
I have had my phone destroyed and all images lost.. i have had my computer crash and pictures lost and one horrible day had my external hard drive also crash.. so now i am obsessed with backing up everything everywhere. I even back up on google.. which i did only once and forgot about.. should probably make an updated back up for that too..
ugh.. life's errands just never end do they.
Liam and Finn are so different but in those last pictures they look soo similar.
ReplyDeleteI need to make sure that everything is backed up! I can no longer back up to my computer any more :( so i've been depending on me just not losing my phone. which would be awful if I did. Need to really back up my photos.

Oh man the storage problem is real... I started not using iPhoto because it organizes shit all weird and just making my own folders on my computer. I only ever save my edited photos because lets be real, what on earth do I need all of those RAW images for? and I organize according to month/year and it has been a total game changer for me. Every few months I export to an external hard drive.
ReplyDeleteI also would LOVE to have a clothesline... but my neighbourhood won't allow them (so stupid) It makes me want to move because freshly dried sheets on the clothesline are my favorite ever!
Love the bath pics, friend! I also export everything on an external hard drive - but seriously, time!
ReplyDeleteAmen for relaxing weekends!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally requesting more info on all your home brewed deliciousness.
aww me time is the best! i hope your friend is able to deliver her baby outside.
ReplyDeletei have an external hard drive, and it has sat on my desk at home for like 8 months, collecting dust. i really need to get on it!
I TOTALLY have the picture problem too! My computer has been really slow lately and I can't tell if it's my internet or my photos saying "you have too many photos, I can't think that fast anymore!" lol. Either way, I don't really plan to do anything about it soon because the task is so daunting!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful sort of weekend! Also I'd never heard of a Blessingway, but I just read about yours. What an awesome tradition!
ReplyDeleteI share all of your photo problems! My laptop runs so slowly and I think it's because of the massive amount of pictures! I really need to move them over to my external hard drive, but seriously who has time for that? And don't even get my started on the photos on my phone.... Stresses me out just thinking about the mess!
ReplyDeleteOh I want so bad someone to make photobooks for me, we fill up our computer/hard drives so fast, all with photos. What a great weekend!! I need to find a great local farmers market, I love the idea of one at a real farm. YES on all things brewing, maybe I can get Dan to help me get some kombucha started. Do you drink it while pregnant?
ReplyDeleteI never heard of a "blessingway" before. It sounds incredible! I just love the idea of your friend wanting to give birth outside. I'm all about natural birthing, and yes, I've been referred to as the "crunchy granola type" too.
ReplyDeleteYou should look into Chatbooks if you haven't already, it is the perfect way to have actual albums of your pictures! How special to have a blessingway for your friend! Xo, Stephanie
