Thanksgiving Hostess

I know I'm bypassing Halloween temporarily, but don't for one moment think that I'm not pumped to celebrate that holiday first!  But in the land of shopping, you have to plan way ahead.  Waaaaay ahead.  As in, we should really be talking Christmas right now (because if you don't snatch up what you want now, it will surely be gone when the actual holiday rolls around), but I'm not quite ready for that.  Instead, today I bring you a little bit of Thanksgiving goodness.  These are all some fun things that I'm eyeing right now.  You better bet, those turkey candle holders are already mine!  And the impulse buys have been out of control every time I step into Crate & Barrel lately.  I imagine I may be adding a few more things to my home to make Thanksgiving dinner extra special.  And can we talk about how copper is taking over the kitchen?!  It's everywhere, and I'm actually really loving it.

So while you all should be a tad selfish and pick up some goodies for yourself, I really put together these items with the thought of hostess gifts in mind.  I am firm believer in manners & old traditions.  If you are having dinner at someone's house, and especially if you have going for a holiday dinner, you best have a hostess gift in hand!  And what host doesn't love getting something festive for that particular holiday or season?

  1. This will be the 8th year we've hosted Thanksgiving at our house. My inlaws come. We've hosted neighbors and friends too, but the last few years it's just been us, my inlaws and brother in law. I love it and can't wait to host in our new house. I love those placemats. So pretty. Such great ideas.

  2. Um, I'll come! :) I love those little turkey candle holders, they are absolutely the best. I've never hosted Thanksgiving before, we always spend it at my sister's house. But goodness sakes, every year that passes, the more I want to host Thanksgiving! Seeing all the cute decor at the stores floods my mind with all I could do with them and makes me think about how much fun it would be to have family at our house instead of the other way around. ... maybe one day? I'm sure you're home will look so festive and inviting come Thanksgiving and your guests will feel right at home.

I wish they didn't close the Crate and Barrel by my house because I used to love going in and checking out the newest stuff!

  4. OMG! I'm so glad you're comments need approval. I just got so confused on what post I was on. Clearly I haven't had any coffee. I just read Park's post and then yours and got distracted by Mason and forgot what I typed. Please delete all my ding dong comments. I swear I'm not drinking at 8am! HAHAHAHA.

  9. Well let me show my true uncultured side and say I have no idea what a "hostess gift" is. I need to be educated.

But anyway, I'm loving the copper too! So pretty, especially for thanksgiving!

  11. oooh I want the thankful glasses! I look forward to the Canadian Thanksgiving party we host more than the American one, with the exception of the Parade! Can't wait for the Parade and a big ol' breakfast since we don't do the cooking on that particular holiday =)
